Why We Are Celebrating Our Wedding in Puglia.

Our wedding in San Francisco was the moment we officially became husband and wife, an intimate, special, and unforgettable day. We were surrounded by our families, we said “yes” in the city where we fell in love, and we celebrated by touring San Francisco on a small bus, taking photos in all the places that mean the most to us.
We ended the evening at Kokkari, a beautiful Greek restaurant we chose to honor Arthur’s heritage, his mother is from Athens.

Now, it’s time to bring a touch of Italy into our story.

We chose to renew our vows in Puglia, the region where Lorena’s grandmother lived and where many of her most cherished traditions and family recipes come from (and yes… food absolutely matters at an Italian wedding!).
For Lorena, who has been away from Italy for ten years, this celebration is also a chance to embrace the people she loves most and finally bring our two worlds together: the United States and Italy, American and Italian family and friends, all in the same place.

For us, a mixed, multicultural wedding means exactly this: blending two cultures, two languages, two ways of loving.
The celebration in Puglia will be our Italian wedding, a way to honor our second language, our second home, and to share this moment with those we don’t get to see often, but who remain deeply present in our hearts.

The entire event will be fully bilingual. The ceremony will be officiated by a dear friend who speaks both languages fluently, so that everyone can feel included and experience each word and each emotion without barriers.
